General Terms & Conditions

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE

1. PAYMENT TERMS

Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the order and initiate production. This deposit covers material acquisition, production planning, and block selection.

Balance: The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the piece and prior to shipment. Completion is validated through professional photographs provided by Arthur Vallin LLC.

Final Approval & Acceptance: Photographic approval constitutes final and binding acceptance of the piece. Once approved in writing by the client, no further feedback, alteration, return, or refund will be accepted. Due to the made-to-order nature of the work, all sales are final after photographic approval.

2. MATERIAL DISCLAIMER

Natural Stone: Our pieces are made from natural stone, which may present unique veining, tonal shifts, inclusions, or crystalline patterns not visible in advance. While reference images and block photos may be provided, the internal composition of the block cannot be fully known until the carving process is underway. Such variations are inherent to the material and are not considered defects or grounds for rejection.

Layout visualizations are provided when feasible, but serve as approximations. Final outcomes are shaped by the constraints and surprises revealed during carving and should be embraced as part of the value of owning a one-of-a-kind object.

Wood: Wood is a living material that naturally reacts to humidity and environmental changes. Slight movements, tonal shifts, or visible changes at seams or joints may develop over time. These are not faults, but expected characteristics of high-quality solid wood construction.

3. TRANSPORT & PACKAGING

Shipping: If arranged by Arthur Vallin LLC, all shipments are professionally packed. Clients must sign delivery receipts “with reserve” in order to activate damage-related insurance coverage. Failure to do so waives any claim for in-transit damage.

Customs & Duties: All import-related fees—including duties, taxes, brokerage, and handling—are the sole responsibility of the client, unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.

Packaging: Custom crating is used to protect each item, but once delivered, clients must ensure careful unpacking and handling. Arthur Vallin LLC disclaims all responsibility for damage resulting from mishandling post-delivery.

Storage: Arthur Vallin LLC provides up to 14 days of complimentary storage after notifying the client that a piece is ready. Thereafter, storage fees of $3.50 per cubic meter per day will be invoiced.

4. DELIVERY TIMELINE

All timelines are estimates only. Production, material procurement, and shipping are subject to variables outside of the Seller’s control. Arthur Vallin LLC is not liable for delays caused by force majeure, customs, transportation issues, material availability, or third-party logistics.

5. CLAIMS & WARRANTY

Inspection: All pieces undergo rigorous inspection and are professionally documented prior to shipment.

Claims: Clients must notify Arthur Vallin LLC in writing within 3 calendar days of delivery to report any clear structural damage, accompanied by detailed photographic documentation of both the product and the packaging. Claims submitted after this window will not be accepted.

Warranty: A limited 1-year warranty is offered for functional structural defects that impair the product’s intended use. This warranty expressly excludes:

  • Wear and tear, abrasions, scratches, stains

  • Changes caused by humidity, temperature fluctuations, or thermal shock

  • Damage from misuse, mishandling, improper installation, or chemical exposure

  • Aesthetic variations inherent to natural materials

  • Unauthorized alterations, repairs, or modifications

  • Force majeure or post-delivery accidents

Remedy: If a claim is validated, Arthur Vallin LLC will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the piece. Any repaired or replaced item is only covered for the remaining duration of the original warranty.

6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Arthur Vallin LLC shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of income, use, resale potential, or goodwill.

The client understands and accepts that the nature of collectible, handmade design involves inherent variability and that the finished piece may differ from renders, samples, or prior works. These qualities are not only expected—they are a defining feature of collectible design. Purchase of any piece constitutes full acceptance of these terms.
